I was first drawn to the Flathead Valley while attending college in Missoula. During the summer months I called Whitefish my home, and my employment history included seasonal work with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks and a few restaurant gigs. After graduation, I headed north for a 5 year stint in Alaska, knowing that Montana would eventually become home again. My husband and I decided to move back to Montana in November 2014. My resume now included a few years of sales and marketing experience and a 9-5’er was way more appealing than any seasonal gig.
I started working at the Flathead Beacon as an account executive in January 2015. Knowing that the best way to build my book of business was through relationships, I was in search for a quick “in” into the community. As I looked diligently at different business groups and organizations to join, I received a call from Lloy Griffing, the recruitment chair-person for the Kalispell Chamber Ambassadors. His testimony on the benefits of being a Kalispell Chamber Ambassador was enough for me and I was sold.
By joining the Ambassadors, I had an instant group of friends that I could network with and help introduce me to prominent people throughout the community. I also knew I was part of an organization that loved the Flathead Valley as much as I do. It has been the best organization for building relationships and developing business connections, which has resulted in building my own book of business. I am coming up on the 2 year anniversary of when I started, and I plan to be an Ambassador for many years to come.
