Our committees play a crucial role in developing the programs and communications that support our strategic plan and mission. Each of our committees is made up of dedicated members who contribute to the success of the Flathead Valley community in the areas of education, communication, legislative action, and more. Participation in a chamber committee serves as a great resource for any individual looking to further engage with the Chamber, community, and local business network and have their voices heard.
The role of the Agribusiness Committee is to promote a greater awareness and better understanding of the agriculture industry in Flathead County. At the heart of programming for this committee is planning the Northwest Montana Market Livestock Sale, which takes place each August during the Northwest Montana Fair. Additionally, the Agribusiness Committee assists in coordinating the chamber’s Made in the Flathead initiatives.
The Ambassadors are the core group of individuals who provide outstanding support and public relations for all chamber events, member events, and community events. The Ambassador Committee helps promote the chamber to potential members, serves as a team of well-wishers across the community, and play a large role in the success of programs like UNWINDs, monthly luncheons, community parades, and the Chamber’s Annual Banquet and Auction. Anyone looking to be part of a high-energy group of professionals, who wants to welcome new businesses to the valley and assist in planning various events should consider joining the team of Ambassadors. We founded the Manufacturers Alliance in 2013 as a vehicle to inform policymakers, legislators, the public, and the media about manufacturing’s vital leadership role in innovation, job creation, and economic vitality. The Manufacturers Alliance works to encourage policies and activities that support innovation and business success while simultaneously engaging with the Kalispell community to ensure manufacturers have access to the workforce they need. The key communications and activities of this committee are most active surrounding Flathead MFG Day and the Flathead Timber Tour, a function of Montana Forest Products Week.
