Last week we sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Agriculture stating our case for Kalispell to retain its “rural” designation to access Rural Development loan programs that support affordable housing. “Kalispell is a rural community based on population density, geography, the built environment, and in the eyes of visitors, residents, and businesses”, said president Joe Unterreiner in his letter.
